Natural Clothing
I know you think this is going to be all about cotton. Cotton is great, don’t get me wrong. But cotton has had its time in the sun. Move over for the next natural clothing source — bamboo.
[I know these are bamboo-cotton blends, but this article is about bamboo alright?]
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, growing more than 3 feet a day. They had to do something with it, not enough people were buying bamboo fences and wallpaper and such. So why not clothing.
There is actually alot of interesting information at Bamboosa about bamboo and all its properties. So I came across this site and it sounded interesting. Since my wife makes me give some of my perfectly good shirts to Goodwill, I found myself in need of some clothes. I purchased a polo style shirt and a regular plain T-shirt. They arrived yesterday and I got my first look at bamboo clothing.
It came in a regular box with a nicely tied package inside. I like companies who take the time to tend to their packaging. Also inside was an information page all about bamboo and nice clear instructions on how to return your item. I won’t be testing that part of their customer service, but it seems fully thought out.
The shirts are very soft and well made. Just one note, bamboo green is a pretty bright color. I am hoping the color will fade just a bit with washing. The other great thing about this clothing is that you can wear it right out of the box. It does not have that strong chemical odor, you know, the new-shirt smell. It just smells natural. I wore the polo to work today and got several comments on how soft it looked and felt.
Go check out their website. They have alot of baby items as well which I think would be well received.
